The regular edition of Digital Village will be pre-empted this week in honor of Cesar Chavez Day. In its place Ric will present Cesar Chavez Legacy. Digital Village will return next week with an update on Linux and Open Source Software.

Endagered Species Ringtones

The Center for Biological Diversity is offering free ringtones of endangered species. Sounds include the Blue-throated Macaw, Beluga Whale, Band-bellied Owl, Mountain Yellow-legged Frog, Yosemite Toad, along with 40 others.

Edwards Second Life HQ Vandalized

A post on the blog of presidential candidate John Edwards claims Republicans have vandalized the Edwards headquarters within Second Life.

Shortly before midnight (CST) on Monday, February 26, a group of republican Second Life users, some sporting "Bush '08" tags, vandalized the John Edwards Second Life HQ. They plastered the area with Marxist/Lenninist posters and slogans, a feces spewing obsenity, and a photoshopped picture of John in blackface, all the while harrassing visitors with right-wing nonsense and obsenity-laden abuse of Democrats in general and John in particular.
