Breast Cancer Gene Lawsuit Interview

Our guest on May 23 was Sandra Park of the Women's Rights Project at the ACLU. Together with the Public Patent Foundation, they have filed a lawsuit against the patenting of the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes, saying that such patents are unconstitutional and invalid.

Eddan Katz Interview

Our guest on May 16 was Eddan Katz the International Affairs Director at the EFF. We talked about the proposed Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA). The EFF has some major concerns about both the ultimate content of the treaty and the large amount of secrecy which has surrounded the negotiations.

We also talked about the recently approved "Three Strikes" law (HADOPI) in France which the EFF says has some serious problems.

When "IMAX" Isn't So Max

The AMC and Regal movie theaters are promoting an "IMAX Experience" for some films. But it's not what you think. That's according to actor Aziz Ansari, who paid $5 extra to see the "IMAX" version of Star Trek at AMC in Burbank, only to find it wasn't at all what he expected.
